Regal Princess Fountain Show

Regal Princess Fountain Show

We were lucky enough to sail on the Regal Princess in August so I thought I would post a short video showing the Regal Princess fountain show as it is often overlooked.

The full show was quite impressive and of course, completely wheelchair accessible. The lifts onboard took you straight to the Lido deck, also the location of the Horizon Court buffet.

Here is the video…

The video was not originally shot for YouTube so I am sorry about the wind noise. It is also a little short but it gives a preview of the fountains.

Why is the Regal Princess fountain show overlooked?

Perhaps because most guests tend to be ‘down below’ at the main theatre show or at dinner when the fountain show plays. Perhaps because the fountains have been omitted completely on the newer ships like Sky Princess. Whatever the reason the fountain show really should not be overlooked as they are quite impressive.

We are not talking about the Las Vegas Bellagio fountains, but perhaps the closest thing you could imagine at sea. They are rather neat. We loved the session when they played Michael Buble, all synchronized to the music.

Was the fountain show busy?

Not at all, quite the opposite. It was as if people did not know the show was going on. It was in the ‘Princess Patter’ but not advertised anywhere else. As I said before, there is little passing traffic on the Lido deck in the evening, it is a lovely place to grab a cocktail and chill in the evening.

I would imagine it would have been a lot busier in the Caribbean where the temperature had been a little more friendly. Even though it was August we had to wrap up in the English channel.

How long is the fountain show?

The fountains play to music and seemed to play for about 5 minutes at a time. They then take a minute to re-charge before going in for a second and then the third song. We were sat with a cocktail so waited but a lot of guests thought the show was over after the first song and left which was a shame.
