Choppy Sea Day

A Choppy Sea Day on the Regal Princess

Ships float and seas, unfortunately, get you will get a choppy sea day from time to time!

Here is a short video of the retreat pool on the Regal Princess cruise ship on choppy sea day during a ‘seacation’, somewhere off the south coast of the UK. As you can see, the water in the pool stayed in the pool, just!

To be fair, the very next day the sea was calm, the pool like a millpond and the retreat area quite busy but it was interesting and fun to see the pool on a windy, choppy sea day, we actually thought the ship rode the rough sea really well!

Where is the retreat pool?

A lot of people never find this pool, it can be rather exclusive!

The retreat pool is directly behind the sanctuary area on deck 17 near the top of the ship. While you have to pay extra to enter the sanctuary area which is right at the front, access to the retreat pool and bar area located just behind the sanctuary is free for all passengers.

To get to the retreat pool area go to the front lifts and use those to go up to deck 17 and follow the signs for the sun deck. I don’t believe you can use the mid or aft lifts although it may be possible to walk around if you walk around and use the stairs.

The bar (right up on deck 17 of the cruise ship) stayed open even though the retreat pool area was empty on this particular day.
