Another treat for Hayley who loves her big cats, this time at Knowsley Safari Park in Prescot, near Liverpool.
In the experience, a keeper took Hayley out in a Land Rover into the actual enclosure to get up and personal with the lions. As Hayley has mobility issues it was a great way to be able to get close to such big cats. A real safari is out of the question, unfortunately.
Hayley took some video while in the Land Rover to show how close she got to these beautiful animals.
Here is the video…

The safari park was brilliant from start to finish, after Hayley completed the VIP tour, we went round the rest of the park in our car and then looked around the ‘on foot’ attractions which were all wheelchair friendly which is also good to know if you are taking little ones with prams as ramps are ramps for everyone.
We highly recommend the park and hope to return to do the tiger experience which we understand is also wheelchair friendly.

We understand following what we hope to be the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic they are now open again, but please check the website to view their current opening hours. You might still have to book online so it is worth checking. You would not want to turn up on the day and be disappointed.
Thank you
