Where do we begin?

So, all about us!

Well, we are Hayley and Andrew Henshaw from Manchester, England.

Although we have travelled all over the world since our 20s, we only started sharing our stories through this blog and on Youtube in 2021. We are now proud to call ourselves bloggers and YouTubers, much to the amusement of our younger relations!

We have always created home movies for our amusement and thought it might be nice to share some of our thoughts and experiences in a blog.

Just the beginning…

This is just the beginning. These things do take time, quite a lot of time it seems but we will continue to add content as often as we can. It is an extra hobby for us, and hopefully, we can build something that will be useful to others.

Everything has to start someone, and this is where this website begins.

Just where have we been?

A little more about us.

Before we met back in 1998 (when we were young and free!), both Hayley and I visited countries throughout the world including further-flung destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, the Cook Islands, Hong Kong, Singapore and more, together with most of Europe, and of course most of the UK!

Since meeting and getting married in 2000 we continued our non-stop holiday scheduled, but settled down and concentrated more on the UK, Europe and the United States on both land and via cruise holidays.

There are few countries in Western Europe we have not been to now, and we have spent many, many months on both the east and west coasts of America, we are very lucky! There are however many, many more countries we have not been to, just look at this map!

Closer to home

Of course, we could not complete our ‘about us’ page without including our travels closer to home, here in the UK. We like taking a mini-break and enjoy just having a great day out which we hope to remember to blog about as sometimes a little break or day out is just what the doctor ordered.

Why did we stop travelling super long haul?

In a word, our dogs.

After getting married we got Jess and Sandy and that planted our feet firmly in the UK. Now we have Baily, Fudge and Buddy, our three Shih Tzu dogs. We never leave them for more than three weeks (actually we rarely leave them for more than two) and we have a beautiful niece (shout out to Zoe). Zoe usually moves into our house when we are away so our dogs can stay at home. Actually, I sometimes think they prefer it when Zoe stays as they get even more walks than normal!

We love our dogs to bits (and more), they are a big part of our lives and affect where and when we go places. You can expect them to pop up in the blog from time to time, it is inevitable!

Twitter, Instagram and YouTube

In addition to this blog, we also have Twitter and Instagram accounts under the handle @hayleyandandy. These are great places to see what we are up to ‘in the moment’ as it can take us a week or two to process videos or post blogs, but we tend to post on Instagram and Twitter as we go along.
